Payroll/Billing Specialist (Part-Time | Murrieta, CA - OPEN)
Role Summary: The Payroll/Billing Specialist performs payroll and billing functions, including managing time entries, calculating wages, processing payments, accounts receivable, and payroll accuracy. Requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 20-30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and process employee wages in a timely fashion
- Prepare client invoices using accurate payroll data
- Review job costing to ensure correct invoicing
- Handle customer inquiries and disputes
- Comply with regulatory requirements (workers comp audits, etc.)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years payroll and billing experience
- Familiarity with accounting principles & payroll procedures
- Strong organizational & time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite & accounting systems
- Experience with WinTeam and ADP a plus
Pay Rate: $20-$23/hour

Security Officers (Armed or Unarmed) (Part-Time | Murrieta, CA - OPEN)
Overview
MPS Security is a family-owned, local company founded in 1967 and based in Murrieta, California. We operate with full transparency-no corporate hurdles or shifting promises. Our team serves the Temecula Valley and surrounding region, protecting diverse properties.

Job Skills & Requirements
- Hiring Event Staff and On Call/Flex Security Officers (armed/unarmed)
- Schedules as-needed (hours not guaranteed; assignments may change)
Required Qualifications
- Valid BSIS guard card
- Armed officers: valid firearms permit & own firearm
- Vehicle patrol: CA driver's license, clean record (1 point maximum, no suspensions), 3+ years licensed
- ASP baton and pepper spray (permitted as needed)
- Tasers are not authorized
- First Aid/CPR/AED preferred
- Must be able to work 4-12 hour shifts
- Reliable transportation and communication required
- Military/law enforcement background a plus
- Event Staff/On Call/Flex roles ineligible for vacation or FT benefits (except as legally required)
- No guard card required for Event Staff personnel
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Requirements
- 1-2 years experience
- BSIS guard card
- Exposed firearm permit
- California driver's license
- Valid auto insurance

California's Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) licenses Guard Cards. Training covers two courses: Powers to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force.

Who Needs a Guard Card?
The State of California requires that all security officers-whether uniformed, plainclothed, bouncers, night watch, executive protection agents, or loss prevention-possess a valid Guard Card.
If you work in any security-related capacity, you must have a valid Guard Card. Guard Cards are valid for two years and enable you to work for any PPO (what is a PPO?) or proprietary security employer.
Guard Cards are issued by BSIS under their standards; MPS provides the required training, but only the State of California grants the license. We cannot guarantee your approval.
What Does the Guard Card Class Consist Of?
The training consists of eight hours, divided into two parts:

Power to Arrest (3 hours): Self-paced workbook, study guide, quiz, and final exam (developed by BSIS).

Appropriate Use of Force (5 hours): Video lectures, workbook, written exam (all using BSIS materials).
